This demo highlights Feedback Aide’s ability to recognize and score key points in a learner's response. In this case, handling subject matter such as constitutional separation of powers and checks and balances. Students must interpret a primary source, and you’ll evaluate and provide feedback on each response, awarding up to 3 points for identifying and explaining the central ideas. The key points approach helps educators target instruction and feedback toward discrete skills or concepts. Responses 1, 2, and 3 show varying degrees of mastery, as can be seen by the feedback.
What should I do?
1. For Responses 1, 2 & 3 click 'Generate Feedback'.
2. After these are scored by Feedback Aide, review the 'Summary of feedback' to see the key point breakdown.
3. Use Manual Grading to edit or customize the feedback, then click 'Submit scores' to save.
What is Short Response - Key Points?
Short response - key points is a rubric type that require learners to give multiple main ideas or demonstrate more than one step or skill in their response. The student's response is evaluated based on whether they have included all the key points and whether they have provided enough detail or explanation for each key point.
