Powered by Feedback Aide—Learnosity’s embeddable agentic AI grading solution—this question type supports asking learners to describe an idea or concept in their own words, using correct facts and logical reasoning. Responses are scored for correct use of concepts and the clarity of explanation, which strengthens both problem-solving and communication skills in STEM contexts.
This demo shows how to use this question type to evaluate scientific reasoning in a real-world context. The learner is expected to use understanding of scientific principles and logic to formulate an answer. Feedback Aide scores the response and, in the case where the response is incorrect, indicates where the learner went wrong and what a correct response might've looked like.
