This demo highlights how Feedback Aide uses a Short Response – X from Y to fairly and consistently evaluate open-ended historical writing. It allows educators to quickly assess whether students have included enough historically valid and well-explained causes in their answers. Scorers evaluate student responses using a three-tier rubric aligned with historical thinking skills. The AI uses those rubric selections to generate constructive feedback, helping students understand how well they connected foreign policy to historical outcomes. Responses 1, 2, and 3 show varying degrees of mastery, as can be seen by the feedback.

Assess recall across multiple valid options.
This rubric type awards credit based on how many correct ideas (X) learners identify from a larger set of valid responses (Y). It’s a flexible format for tasks that ask students to list or explain several key points, ensuring scoring reflects both accuracy and coverage.
