In this demo, a teacher uses Feedback Aide assess categorization accuracy, a key cognitive skill in early literacy. It helps students practice using evidence from a passage to make inferences about a character and sort ideas logically. Here you’ll evaluate and provide feedback on a student’s ability to categorize character traits based on textual evidence. The passage describes a fictional character, Jada, and the student must sort traits into those that do and do not describe her.
1. Start by choosing a response and then clicking 'Generate Feedback'.
2. Feedback Aide evaluates that each trait is placed in the correct category and scores the response.
3. Review both the rubric and the 'Feedback to learner' to see the justifications behind the scores.
4. The human grader has final say. Interact with the rubric to adjust scores and edit the feedback to the learner as needed.
Test comprehension through classification.
This rubric type asks learners to sort words, ideas, or facts into correct groups based on evidence, understanding, or logic. It evaluates how well students can organize information meaningfully—building skills in making distinctions, identifying traits, and applying criteria for grouping.
