This demo highlights Feedback Aide’s ability to assess literary analysis skills across multiple media using a holistic rubric. The assessment evaluates deeper thinking about character development, narrative technique, and author/filmmaker choices. In this example, you’ll evaluate two student responses comparing a novel and its film adaptation, with Feedback Aide providing both a numeric score and constructive feedback. Responses 1 and 2 show varying degrees of mastery, as can be seen by the feedback.
What should I do?
1. Start by clicking 'Generate Feedback' for each response.
2. After these are scored by Feedback Aide, review the 'Summary of feedback' to see the justifications behind the scores.
3. Need to change something? Use Manual Grading to fine-tune the feedback, then click 'Save/Submit scores' when you’re ready.
What is a holistic rubric?
A holistic rubric assesses the overall quality of a response and provides a single, overall performance score for a piece of work by evaluating it as a whole rather than breaking it down into individual components.
