This demo shows how Feedback Aide can support biology instruction by breaking down complex ideas like cellular respiration into discrete concepts. Feedback is aligned to both content accuracy and scientific reasoning, helping educators identify gaps and target re-teaching. With Feedback Aide, scorers evaluate the student’s grasp of each key biological process by selecting rubric-aligned points, generating accurate, targeted feedback with just a few clicks. Responses 1, 2, and 3 show varying degrees of mastery, as can be seen by the feedback.

How to use this demo

1. Start by choosing a response and then clicking 'Generate Feedback'.
2. Feedback Aide now scores the response: Review both the rubric and the 'Feedback to learner' to see the evaluation and suggestions for improvement.
3. The human grader has final say. Interact with the rubric to adjust scores and edit the feedback to the learner as needed.

What is Short Response—STEM

Apply knowledge to real-world problems.
This rubric type asks learners to solve a math or science problem and explain their reasoning. Responses are scored for correct use of concepts and the clarity of explanation, helping students strengthen both problem-solving and communication skills in STEM contexts.
